All Things New COG Makati

Pastor Jonathan Heppner

(my notes)

Church is people gathered together believing in Jesus in celebration of His giidness in our lives.

2Kings 2:19-22
This happened in Jericho, the first city Israelites conquered.

Joshua 6:26
Curse in rebuilding the city of Jericho.

530 years later
1 Kings 16:34
Ahab rebuilds Jericho

Deuteronomy 28
Verse 1 blessings
Verse 2 curses

Actions of parents have the power to bless the children.

It is not just about being punished. When you obey God can bless you but when you disobey, God cannot keep you in the blessing. He cannot protect you from the darkness because you have partnered with it. But if you disobey and return to God you will be restored.

1. Ring me a new bowl.
New - chadash in Hebrew
- renew

Ps 51:10
Ps 104:30
Isa 61:4
Lamentations 5:21

- make new or rebuild

Ps 33:3
Ps 40:3

2. Put salt in it.
Salt was extremely valuable.

Fidelity
Usefulness
Value
Purification

Yeast makes the read rise. Salt kills the yeast.

Leviticus 2:13
Salt represents seal.
The covenant is that no matter how you choose to commit stupid things, you will be restored when You return to God.

Numbers 18:19

They were just like us, we need ideas or truths to be:
Tactible:intangible
Kinesthetic: hands on, physical

This is why there is altar call, raising of hands in praise. Expression is important.

2 Chronicles 30:9
Nehemiah 1:8
Jeremiah 15:19

"if you return, you will be restored"

Hosea 6:1-3
Joel 2:12, 25

When you return, He will restore and repay.

For Elisha, history is not an inscriber but a describer. Your history describes your past but not your future.

How many of us are chained to the mistakes or pain of our past because it has become a blend of describig and deciding?

Ok, there's a curse. Let's break it, let's go.

Accdg to Elisha curses are made to be broken, a new word can always be spoken.

Isaiah 61:1-7
Isaiah 51:1,5,8
Isaiah 55:10-13

When we give meaning to the wrong hings it is called superstition.

Repent
Metanoia
Meta-think
Noia-exercise the mind/to think/to comprehend

2 Cor 10:35
Revelations 21:5
