I cannot talk when I am alone. This is difficult as I talk a lot while I work at home. Do not really have somebody to talk to. It would be great to just post my random thoughts. I know that I will learn something from it when I get back to it sometime. Happy reading!

I Still Love Him...
I admit... I still love him... And it still hurts to think that there is no "us" anymore. I built a world with him, wished for things to get a long well with us but there is no such world anymore.
He was one of the people who brought back hope in my life. He was one of my greatest gifts. He made me feel special.
He may have also caused some pain to me. His practicality is way far from my illusions. I thought that he would choose to marry me than lose me... But he chose to lose me...
Up to now I still could not completely comprehend. I thought he has been the answer to my prayers. Up to now I still cannot see myself wih another. It's either him or be alone... I neve wished to be a martyr.
What is it that he is looking for? Why can't I be the man of his dreams? Why can't I be his wife? Why can't he be my husband?
I need to understand. I need to move forward and build my new world without him, without a partner... Men... They will do everything to make you believe that they care, that they love... But no, don't you dare. Once you give in to the feelings, they will reign, they will just break your heart.
I wanna move forward soon. I want to forget how I feel for him.
Mixed emotions... I hate him and love him, I'm sad, bitter, and angry but still hoping. I want to set this straight in my life...

Human Relationships COG Makati
By Pastor Dennis Heppner
(my notes)
Eph 5:22-23; 6-14
Husbands v23
1. Christ is the leader of the church by example. In the same way, husbands are to lead his wife and family.
Leading is:
- Not manipulation or control. A man is not to control his wife
- Not coercion. A man is not to threaten his wife.
- Not telling and then not doing. A man is not to oder his wife around.
When this letter was written, women were treated badly. Paul elevated the level of women at this time.
2. He is to love His wife as Christ loved the church - some personal sacrifice is involved. V30.
Men and women are equal in the eyes of God. We are all equal, we are all responsible.
3. He is to submit to Christ as Jesus submitted to His Father.
In the Body of Christ everyone is required to be submissive to Christ
Wives
1. She is told to submit to her husband. V.24
- as the church submits to Christ.
2. She is told to respect him.
Love is demonstrated in submission and respect.
During this time there are no love marriages. It is more of arranged marriages.
Children
Children are told to obey their parents.
Kids were never out of the control of their fathers til he fathers death. Children were of little value then, they can be thrown away.
Fathers/Parents
Do not exasperate your children.
We sometimes forget that customs change through the years. Do not force children to do what you used to do when you are a kid.
Do not force children to be what you want them to be but to be what the Lord wants them to be.
1. We forget that customs change from one generation to the next.
2. Too much control. Harsh discipline, no room for mistakes. Tea h them to make right decisions though.
3. Don't forget the duty of encouragement.
Discipline is good but don't forget encouragement.
Encouragement is needed for us to thrive in life.
Pray that your children would be what God wants them to be.
The Spirit of this teaching is Christ and not legalism. It is about modelling Jesus Christ in our homes.

Relationships - Getting Along with the Church Family
By Pastor Dennis Heppner
(my notes)
Ephesians 2:18-21
In Great Britain families have crests. It symbolizes their beliefs or philosophy. What is our family symbol today?
Belonging to a church family and what it means to belong to one.
A believer
- has been wonderfully blessed
- has been uniquely chosen
- has been forgiven of all their sins
- has a special mark on their life
- is God's masterpiece
As a child of God this is the basis of how we are.
Ephesians 4:3
1. Keep the unity of the Spirit.
As believers we have likes and dislikes but this cannot be applied to people... You cannot choose a brother or a preacher the way you choose your clothes.
Patience in the New Testament means patien e with people.
Make every effort... Even if you have to bite your tongue. Gentleness, kindness, self control.
God is big enough to pick you as special as the person beside you... This is not humanly comprehensible but everyone in God's household is important and special.
Even the people who are difficult for us is also God's chosen. Never criticize other Christians for whatever reason.
2. Learn to be truthful with each other in a loving way.
Eph 4:15
Speak the truth in love.
Tell the truth and make sure that your motive is that you care.
Respect the truth and still love
3. Do your part.
Eph 4:16
We are all joined and held together, growing and building in love.
If you do not do your part you will not feel that you belong.
The life is in the ministry.
You have the Holy Spirit as your breath and you have a part in the body.
4. Be very generous with forgiveness.
Eph 4:32
I forgive because at times I also wrong somebody... But in bad times we only remember others' behavior against us.
We are most critical of people who have hurt us. We usually react due to hurts that other people has caused so when somebody else does something, we react as if they initially hurt us.
Forgive each other just as in Christ God forgave you.
To live in God's house is to do what God says... We must do our part.

1st day of the "Love Month"
Somehow, I got surprised that it's already the 1st of February... The love month! Haha! Then I suddenly remembered that I am currently loveless or that I do not have a partner to share his month with, especially Valentine's Day... Yiheee...
But then, I realized the kind of love being promoted in this month. Is it what love really is all about?
The love that I see all around in this season is the longingness to be needed. I see that the basis for loving is serving another yet being gratified that the other needs us at the same time. It seems mutual or symbiotic but looking deeper, this is not the case.
I used to think that I love someone when I always want to be with him... When I am very willing to give everything I have and do everything I can for the person... When I think that only death can do us part... But then it is also in felling these things that I get hurt or that I hurt another.
This made me think that there is something wrong about this concept of love. As you take away its layers of affection, you will see the root of it which is mere selfishness. Yes, this longingness to be loved or needed is rooted in thinking about ourselves... Our own.
I know it is natural for us to have his feeling, we are humans. We have been created with emotions. But then, if we just want to have another so that we can satisfy ourselves as it fills our need to be loved then can this be called "love?"

Making the Best of It COG Makati
By Pastor Dennis Heppner
2 Peter 1:3-8,9
Why don't we live better than we do?
Why do we struggle the waythe bible speaks about our lives?
No one lives better than what they dream of.
I do not want to be like anybody else... I want to be like Jesus...
To make the best of it is to live up to God's potential in our lives. You can live out of the ordinary.
2 Peter 1:8
1. Hang on to what God has provided.
You can't live a Christian life without being a Christian.
Knowledge of God is experiential.
John 17:3
Know God, be related, be in contact with.
It won't do muh good if what you hear about God does not come to your life.
Great books cannot make one a Christian, it is by experience tha one becomes a Christian.
Information by itself will not make you a better Christian.
It is a living and growing relationship with Jesus that changes lives.
The Christian begins not wih religion but with Christ. Knowing Christ better makes you better.
The breath of the Christian is Christ.
If Jesus is real, you don't need to ask yourself about it.
2. Live by the rule of faith.
We can have his wonderful encounter wih God and live the experience or Jesus touches our life hen we go back to where we were.
Jesus does not want to be added to your life or a part of your life. He wants to be your life.
You cannot practice what Jesus taught by discipline alone but with Jesus all things are possible.
Jesus does not want you to live the way you live, He wants you to live for Him.
Verse 5 - supernatural power that works in the life if a Christian.
Making the best of your life is letting Jesus work in you.
When God makes a promise, He can keep it.
The Christian life begins within. It's a work of God in your life. But, this cannot happen without your will. If you want the best of it, you need to work with God in it.
If I believe in God He will help me in my current curcumstance for His glory.
"Make every effort"
It's not enough to just pray for your siuation. You need to be a part of it.
You have divine power in you. You have faith in the Lord. You can do what you need to do.
You can't change your heart. When God changes a heart, He does it wonderfully.
It is a mistake to tell somebody to quit and change wihout Jesus working in his or her heart.
3. Make the right additions.
The first thing that happens to you when Jesus comes in your life is a change of character.
"add"
Goodness or good character
Knowledge or spiritual understanding
Self control or discipline
In every field of life, when you do your best you get the best results.
You lead the dance and the Holy Spirit dances with you. So when you make the efforts, the Holy Spirit will work togeher with you.
Whenever you take the step in the right direction the Lord is gonna take steps with you.

Home from the Concert
Home sweet home... 'twas a nice concert, nice concept... I enjoyed the night!
So good to remember the goodness of the Lord... To know that the people leading in worship also went through some painful circumstances... So great to realize that God is such a great God! He can rescue us whatever circumstance we are in.
In awe and mesmerized by His joy... Goodnight :-).
